Error messages during system bootup
When an error or unexpected shutdown event occurs, an error message displays during the system bootup. The following table lists the error messages that might occur.

| Error: Fan failure detected, the system will shut down shortly. | The fan does not work when the system is powered on. The system will automatically shut down because there is no working fan in the system. |
| Error: Required fan not installed, the system will shut down shortly. | The fan is not installed when the system is powered on. The system will automatically shut down because there is no fan in the system. |
| Warning: Fan failure detected at last boot. | The fan was not working when the system was last powered on. |
| Warning: Required fan not installed at last boot. | The fan was missing when the system was last powered on. |
| Error: Thermal temperature condition has been degraded, the system may or may not shut down depending on thermal shutdown setting. | Either the environmental temperature or the internal system temperature has triggered a warning condition. If the Thermal Shutdown option is enabled in the Aptio Setup Utility, the system will automatically initiate a graceful shutdown to protect the system. To check, access the Aptio Setup Utility. Then, select Advanced > Hardware Health Configuration. |
| Warning: System was probably shut down due to the thermal temperature condition being set to degraded at last boot. | Either the environmental temperature or the internal system temperature triggered a warning condition when the system was last powered on. If the Thermal Shutdown option was enabled and the OS power button is set to shut down the system, a graceful shutdown occurred to protect the system. |
| Warning: System was shut down due to thermal temperature condition being set to failed at last boot. | Either the environmental temperature or the internal system temperature triggered a failed condition when the system was last powered on. The system shuts down immediately for protection. |
