Removing and replacing a type -a Smart Array Controller Procedure Power down the server (Power down the server). Remove all power: Disconnect each power cord from the power source. Disconnect each power cord from the server. Do one of the following: Extend the server from the rack (Extend the server from the rack). Remove the server from the rack (Remove the server from the rack). Remove the access panel (Remove the access panel). Do one of the following: Remove the air baffle (Removing the air baffle). Remove the 4 LFF midplane cage (Removing and replacing a 4 LFF midplane cage). Disconnect the SAS cables. Remove the controller. To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
