Removing and replacing the 3 LFF rear drive backplane Procedure Power down the server (Power down the server). Remove all power: Disconnect each power cord from the power source. Disconnect each power cord from the server. Do one of the following: Extend the server from the rack (Extend the server from the rack). Remove the server from the rack (Remove the server from the rack). Remove the access panel (Remove the access panel). Remove the fan cage (Removing and replacing the fan cage). Remove all drives (Removing and replacing drives). Remove the drive backplane. To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
