Removing and replacing a 4 LFF midplane cage
Procedure
- Power down the server (Power down the server).

Remove all power:
- Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
- Disconnect each power cord from the server.

Do one of the following:
- Extend the server from the rack (Extend the server from the rack).
- Remove the server from the rack (Remove the server from the rack).
- Remove the access panel (Remove the access panel).

If installed, remove all riser cages:
Primary or secondary PCIe riser cage (Removing and replacing the primary or secondary PCIe riser cages)
Tertiary PCIe riser cage (Removing and replacing the tertiary PCIe riser cage)
- Disconnect the power and cables from the drive cage.
- Raise the blue tabs on the drive tray and lift the drive cage to a 15 degree angle.
- Pull the plunger pin to disengage it.
- Remove all drives (Removing and replacing drives).

Using both hands, remove the drive cage from the server.
