Removing and replacing the air baffle

CAUTION: For proper cooling, do not operate the server without the access panel, baffles, expansion slot blanks, or blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components, minimize the amount of time the access panel is open.

Procedure

If installed, remove the front bezel.
Power down the server.
Remove all power:
1. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
2. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
Do one of the following:
- Extend the server from the rack.
- Remove the server from the rack.
Remove the access panel.
If the 12G SAS expander is installed, remove the riser cage.
Remove the air baffle.

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
