Removing and replacing an M.2 SSD

Prerequisites

Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a Philips No. 1 screwdriver available.

Procedure
  1. If installed, remove the bezel.
  2. Power down the server.
  3. Remove all power:
    1. Disconnect each power cord from the power source
    2. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
  4. Do one of the following:
  5. Remove the access panel.
  6. Disconnect the SATA cables from the M.2 SSD enablement board.
  7. If replacing the M.2 SSD enablement on the primary riser, remove the primary riser cage.
  8. If replacing the M.2 SSD enablement on the secondary riser, remove the secondary riser.
  9. Remove the M.2 SSD enablement board.
  10. Remove the M.2 SSD.

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
