Removing and replacing the SFF front I/O assembly

Prerequisites

Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following tools available.

  • T-10 screwdriver
  • T-15 screwdriver
Procedure
  1. If installed, remove the bezel.
  2. Power down the server.
  3. Remove all power:
    1. Disconnect each power cord from the power source
    2. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
  4. Do one of the following:
  5. Remove the access panel.
  6. Disconnect the following cables from system board:

    • Front I/O cable

    • iLO service port cable

    • USB 3.0 cable

  7. Release all front I/O assembly cables from clips.
  8. Remove the front I/O assembly.
    1. Detach the ambient thermal sensor cable from its clip.
    2. Remove one T-10 screw
    3. Remove the front I/O assembly


  9. Remove the USB 3.0 cable assembly.



  10. Remove the iLO service port assembly.



  11. Remove the front I/O module.



To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
