Removing an expansion slot blank

Prerequisites
T-10 Torx screwdriver
Procedure
  1. Power down the server.
  2. Remove all power:
    1. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
    2. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
  3. Do one of the following:
  4. Remove the access panel.
  5. Remove the riser cage.
  6. Remove the slot blank:
    1. Press the latch on the slot blank retainer.
    2. Open the slot blank retainer.
    3. Remove one T-10 screw on the slot.
    4. Remove the slot blank and retain it for future use.
