PDB pass-through board

Prerequisites

Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:

  • T-15 Torx screwdriver

  • T-20 Torx screwdriver

To remove the component:

  1. Power down the system.
  2. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the nodes and chassis.
  3. Remove all nodes from the chassis.
  4. If installed, remove the RCM module.
  5. Remove all power supplies.
  6. If installed, remove the security bezel.
  7. Remove all drives.
  8. Remove the chassis from the rack.
  9. Remove the access panel.
  10. If a Smart Storage Battery is installed, slightly pull up the battery holder from the chassis to access the battery cable connection underneath it, and then disconnect the Smart Storage Battery cable.

  11. Remove the PDB assembly.

  12. Disconnect all cables from the PDB.

  13. Disconnect the PDB pass-through cable from the pass-through board.
  14. Remove the PDB pass-through board assembly:
    1. Use a T-20 Torx screwdriver to remove the PDB pass-through board screws.
    2. Remove the PDB pass-through board assembly from the PDB.
  15. Use a T-20 Torx screwdriver to remove the screws from the PDB pass-through board bus bars.
  16. Use a T-15 Torx screwdriver to remove the PDB pass-through board screws.

  17. Remove the PDB pass-through board from its metal bracket.

To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
